Sea to Sky Gondola Wedding | Sarah & Jake
Back in March, Sarah & Jake left sunny California behind, to swap for the colder winter season in British Columbia. Here they would celebrate their destination wedding, with two days of festivities at the Sea to Sky Gondola and the SLCC. The Sea to Sky in general, is definitely known for unsettled weather. Especially in the winter months. Luckily the rain that was falling from the sky that morning, shut itself off with impeccable timing just as we arrived to Squamish, and the moody clouds and fog that ensued was nothing short of amazing.
The first day of celebrations was their wedding ceremony and reception, accessed by the Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish. Their wedding aisle was was quite the entrance, as they all walked across the suspension bridge. Sarah & Jake had their first dance to follow on the deck overlooking the Howe Sound at what was meant to be sunset. A dreamy plan to say the least. And although that sunset never happened, the moody, pacific north west vibes that were present was spectacular and beautiful in a different type of way.
The second day of festivities started on Whistler mountain, where myself and 20 of their friends joined them for a ski day. That evening, a second wedding reception was thrown, at the beautiful Squamish Lillooet Cultural Centre, here in Whistler. A cocktail hour and canapes style dinner, followed by one epic dance party with Whistler’s local favourite band, the Hairfarmers. I mean, if your going to do a destination wedding, why not make it a two day affair, amirite?!
