Kristen & Aiden | Blackcomb Helicopters
Ah 2020. A very strange year indeed. Despite the mass postponements, and the ultimate wedding industry being affected as a whole, there are some beautiful moments and celebrations going ahead despite COVID raining on peoples parade.
Kristen & Aiden decided fairly last minute to have a wedding. They’re family sadly won’t be able to attend due to borders being closed, a difficult decision to make no doubt. But they do plan on celebrating with their families in the future, which means two times the fun.
They came to Whistler a few weeks prior to their Vancouver wedding, to have their wedding portraits taken on top of the Rainbow Glacier. Blackcomb Helicopters flew us to the glacier, where we spent some time capturing them in the beautiful coastal mountains, that Whistler makes it’s home.
After, we headed to the Whistler valley to capture some more wedding portraits lakeside. We took advantage of the green glacial water, the mountains and forest that makes up so much of this special area that they chose to celebrate their love.
What I’m really enjoying seeing this summer, is how couples are still choosing to celebrate their love. Of course those BIG weddings just aren’t able to happen this year, and it’s incredibly disappointing. Heartbreaking really. Especially for those who have families overseas, and are separated indefinitely until this blows over. It’s hard. My heart is heavy for all those experiencing these hardships. For those that are going forward, downsizing, or eloping, is been really lovely to see the smiles, the laughter, the love that is there no matter. At the end of the day, you get to be husband and wife. These smaller weddings aren’t for everyone, I know that. But it’s incredible to be apart of them big or small.
Congratulations to you both. I hope your wedding the other week was everything you dreamed! #loveisnotcancelled
