I want you to feel like I’m a friend with a camera

I’m a wedding photographer based out of Whistler, BC. I was born and raised on Vancouver Island, and I've been blessed to have lived in some pretty stunning places. Victoria, Tofino, Byron Bay, and Whistler. These places have been a huge inspiration; the beaches, the forests, the rolling surf and towering mountains. I began capturing the places and people I met along the way. Professionally trained and educated at the Western Academy of Photography, I took this next leap, diving deep into the craft, following a path to a dream that has always been.

I’M FOR THE ADVENTUROUS SOULS, THOSE DEEPLY ROOTED TO NATURE, AND NOT AFRAID OF A LITTLE DIRT.

How I got here

I moved from Tofino to Whistler 14 years ago

I had meant to only spend a winter season, to escape the rain, before returning to the beach. Unknown to me, it was here I'd meet my husband. 14 years later, we are still here, with our rescued fur babe, Puddles. If you have a dog, please bring them along for your wedding or photography session, as I am obsessed.

For my approach to your wedding day, I want you to feel like I'm a friend with a camera from the moment I walk through the door. As much as I love the big environmental portraits, I also see the huge significance in the small moments in between. I take a documentary approach capturing the small and big moments, embraces with loved ones, happy tears, and that big belly laughter I hope fills your day. I want to tell your story, how it looked as well as how it felt.

What Fuels Me

A group of surfers are standing on a cliff overlooking the ocean, captured by a Whistler Wedding Photographer.

01

Traveling. It's my biggest reset. Most of our trips are planned around my love for surfing. Over the past few years, we started to mix in trips that offered more in terms of culture and adventure. Peru, Iceland, Italy, Portugal and France. I had booked a trip to India and was planning for Egypt and Jordan before the world shut down. I need to get back to planning those again. My bucket list is large and I am eager to get out there to see more.

02

Will. My husband, my best friend. He has supported me through this life journey over the past 14 years. Absolutely shreds on his snowboard and bike, and pushes me when I don't want to be pushed. He puts up with my constant desire to travel to faraway places, my insistence to adopt dogs, and is figuring out the surfing thing because I need it in my life.

03

Surfing. Probably my favourite thing. After living in Tofino for 6 years, I became slightly addicted to the sport. Some of my happiest moments come from my time in the ocean, as well as my most frustrating. There's something about gazing into the horizon as the sun is setting that is almost meditative. Being in the water with sea turtles, rays, and dolphins is special. Although I could do without the sea lions here at home.

04

Snowboarding. Essentially, surfing on snow. I grew up going on ski holidays from a very early age. At 12, I tried snowboarding for the first time, and it's safe to say, I ditched the skis. I love the light first thing in the morning on a blue bird day, as the sun starts to illuminate the mountains. What I love more, is riding fresh pow through the snow caked trees (this is my husband, I have zero photos of me).

05

Puddles. Our newest rescue. She came into our lives shortly after losing Pickles and she was honestly just what I needed to help my grief. A litter of 9 week old pups from Williams Lake were given up, and we had the opportunity to adopt. Now this little muscular tank has filled our home and hearts with all the love, and all the crazy puppy energy. The obsession with our dogs continues.

06

Pickles. My obsession. Rescued off the streets of Houston Texas, this little trouble maker entered our lives with a whole load of baggage. Although not the easiest dog, she filled our hearts with so much love, and there was much growth and learning from all ends. It's safe to say she was my best online purchase to date.

Nikita. Will's dog, she came into my life when she was 6, and I was lucky to have her be apart of mine for 8 whole years. She was the best of girls, loyal and a shadow, following closely behind you at all times.

RIP beautiful girls. Can't bear to take you down

I spend a lot of time enjoying the incredible landscapes that Whistler has to offer.

Whether it be snowboarding on the resort or backcountry, riding my bike down slippery roots and rock slabs through the lush forests of the Sea to Sky, or hiking to glacial lakes. I am constantly in awe of our surroundings. I find so much inspiration in the every day activities that consume my life. Always playing, while simultaneously scouting incredible locations.

ELOPING?

Amazing! My husband and I did the same. I love the aspect of no real timelines, finding an epic location, and making it 100% about you. I'm always happy to bounce ideas around about what speaks to you. Whether that be hiking to your favourite alpine lake, flying to a glacier in a helicopter, or a simple and sweet valley elopement.
