Top Squamish Wedding Venues

Squamish. A town where the Coast Mountains meet the mouth of the Howe Sound. Once a sleepy little town, it has boomed into a mecca for those that are outdoor enthusiasts. Getting outside to explore is the draw. Big mountains, lush, mossy forests, rivers, the ocean, and of course the Stawamus Chief which is the back drop for so much of Squamish. This massive granite monolith is one of the largest in the world, and is a huge draw for rock climbers and hikers alike.

Squamish is perfectly situated between Vancouver and Whistler, making it extremely accessible. To me the big downfall, is the Sea to Sky highway itself. I find in the summer months, drivers act like it’s a speedway, and the amount of accidents that disrupt travel plans is unnerving.

There are a lot more hotels in the area then say Pemberton, but none that I particular rave about. If getting ready photos are of importance to you, I would suggest finding a cute air bnb. There are some gorgeous ones in the area.

Here is a curated guide of the top Squamish wedding venues, listed in no particular order

1. Sea to Sky Gondola – One of the most popular venues in Squamish. The views are incredible! Accessed by the gondola itself, the ceremony location overlooks the Howe Sound and is a wow moment for guests, especially for those that travel from outside of BC. When the weather isn’t on your side, they do have a stretch tent set up by the reception space, but I honestly would suggest clear umbrellas unless it’s a downpour. The reception space holds up to 100 people, so I wouldn’t say this venue caters to super large weddings.

* Note, the gondola doesn’t provide exclusivity to the venue, so know there will be others up there viewing the sites.

2. Sunwolf – Easily one of my favourite venues in all the Sea to Sky. I love that you and your loved ones can make a wknd out of it, and all stay on site. Although there aren’t enough cabins for everyone, you can get cute tents from Wildhavens set up and those that don’t mind can glamp. The venue provides lots of shade for those hot days. The forest surroundings and the river are gorgeous. The food, delicious!

3. The Cheakamus Centre – Situated amongst the lush forest, the Cheakamus Centre provides a beautiful forested ceremony location. Think Fern Gully. There are so many great spots on site for photos. The Reception space itself, provides ample ambient light, and can sit up to a 150 people.

4. Railway Museum – This venue is really suited for large weddings. The space is huge! The ceremony location is situated out on the lawn surrounded by a cute picket fence. Old trains, cute little houses, and views of Brohm make this a pretty unique venue.

5. Cheekye Ranch – Three acres dedicated to your celebration, with 360-degree views of the majestic Tantalus and Garibaldi mountain ranges. With the opportunity for some to stay on site in the riverside yurts, you and your guests can enjoy some privacy surrounded by mossy forests, flowing rivers, and of course the rescued horses.

6. Glacier Valley Farm – I’ve only had the opportunity to photograph this venue once, and their ceremony was at different location. But I will say, the barn was SO cute. They squeezed well over a 120 people in there, plus the Hairfarmers, and what a magical little farm wedding that was.

7. House of Lager – Squamish’s newest wedding venue situated right on the Howe Sound. I have yet to photograph a wedding here, but I do have one booked for 2027. Stay tuned for photos and updates then.
