Nita Lake Lodge Wedding | Aishly & Eric

This beautiful, rainy wedding, took place in September at Nita Lake Lodge. Aishly & Eric are high school sweethearts, their story began many years ago. They brought their loved ones up to Whistler from the sunnier states, to celebrate their official union. Of course nobody wants rain on their wedding day, but these two had the most incredible outlook, and didn’t let it get them down one bit. After all, you can’t change it, so embrace it, and that they did.

Aishly is a wedding planner in Vegas, so their vision and the details that went into this day were incredible. She wore a stunning dress designed by Sarah Seven. Erin of Bliss Event + Design created a beautiful bouquet, and executed the details of the day perfectly. From the massive floral ring for the ceremony, to the incredible table scapes in the Ballroom for the reception. When I walked into the room, the details honestly took my breath away. I’ve never seen that room look so good!

They planned their whole timeline around light (loved them so much for this). They chose to do a first look and were absolute troopers about getting out in the rain. They had a late ceremony to tie in portraits at sunset before the reception started. Of course we didn’t get that golden hour light, but we made the best of it, and they were some of my favourite photos from the day.

Aishly surprised Eric with a traditional Chinese Lion Dance. It was awesome! I’ve only seem them done at parades, so to have it in the ballroom, was quite something. No real speeches were done, instead they had their first dance before dinner and left room for more party time. After their meals were served, they did a traditional money dance followed by DJ Nathalie Morel throwing down some epic tracks for one heck of a dance party.
