Jess & Ty | Backyard Wedding, Victoria, BC

Jess once told me she likes what I write on my blogs. She feels it makes it more personal. Except I really have no clue what to write about these two. Stumbling on my words, hitting the delete button more than I hoped to.

I’ve known this girl since I was 7, and she was 6. We played T-ball, went to elementary and high school together, and throughout our adult lives, we’ve remained close friends. When she asked me if I’d rather be a guest or photograph the day for them, I jumped on photographing it. Photographing their wedding, meant I got to spend a lot more time with Jess & Ty then I would have had I not. And that was meaningful on it’s own. I don’t get to see them very often since they live in Calgary, and getting to hang out with their son Ashton is pretty great too. Each time I see him, he has completely changed. In her belly, a few month old baby, a toddler, a perfect tiny version of the two of them. Next time I see him he’ll be in full talk mode, time flying by.

The wedding took place in Victoria, in her parents beautiful backyard in Uplands. The perfect location for this DIY, mexican fiesta themed wedding. Surrounded by their family and friends, these two sealed the deal. A pulled pork taco bar, excellent BC wines and local beer, lawn games, perfect weather. This day really couldn’t have been any better.

Congratulations you two. Love you so damn much. Thank you for having me be apart of your wedding day. So many happy tears were shed that day. xo
