Casa Velas Wedding, Puerto Vallarta | Corrine & Brian
Last month, I flew down to Puerto Vallarta to capture a stunning celebration and union of two families. Their Casa Velas wedding was one for the books! Corinne, from the Gold Coast in Australia, and Brian, Cape Breton NS, grew up half way around the world from each other. Their paths crossed in Vancouver, as their careers began in the same company. It was at a company party, that Corinne did not shy away from her intentions or feelings towards this canadian bloke, ultimately scoring her best friend, and now husband.
I got the honour of sitting at the Cape Breton table during the rehersal dinner, with Brian’s childhood friends. Fitting as my partner is from Cape Breton too. As we celebrated Cinco de Mayo, while listening to a Mariachi band, I got all the humorous and embarrassing stories from their childhood. You learn a lot about people during these conversations, and it just made me like them both even more.
Their Casa Velas wedding was a glorious and stunning affair. Corinne was calm as a cucumber, the ultimate bride, exuding nothing but positive, relaxed vibes. She wore a stunning satin gown by Vancouver designer Something Blue. Brian, a custom 3 piece suit, that I can only imagine was sweltering in that heat. Both stylish as can be. Their ceremony was on the very beach Brian proposed to Corinne. Their families meeting half way, on the shore of the beautiful Bahia de Banderas, in Mexico. Corinne’s 95 year old grandmother even made the trip, and amazingly can still tear it up the dance floor. Their first dance was was to River by Leon Bridges, and I’d be lying if I didn’t shed a tear. The dance party that ensued was nothing short of amazing, entertaining, and sweaty!
Corinne & Brian, thank you a thousand times over for bringing me along on this incredible celebration. You two are undeniably perfect for each other.
