The best of 2017 – Wedding & Lifestyle
2017 was officially my 3rd season of business. I shot 26 weddings/elopements, my busiest season yet. Reflecting back at at the past few years, I feel there has been a large amount of growth, which excites me knowing I am getting closer to my goal of going full time. It was also an incredible year for adventures and travels. Anyone that knows me, knows I have a huge desire to pack my bags, and get out of dodge. I went back to Nicaragua to visit a dear friend, and to be humbled by the Nicaraguan pipeline. I went to Joshua Tree with some other hugely inspiring and talented ladies to wander the desert. Took a few mini trips to Tofino, to breath the salty air, and feed my heart and my soul. I pushed myself to be a stronger biker, and did a few epic bike trips to both the Chilcotins and the Sunshine Coast. I managed to do most of these things before the craziness of the season really hit. After a solid 5 months of weddings most weekends, sometimes 2 back to back, I finished my season with an incredible destination wedding in Sayulita, Mexico.
I am beyond thankful for each couple that had me along to document their weddings. Each of you were not only fun, but kind, and easy to work with. I shed many happy tears while listening to your vows. Yes, I’m a happy crier. If you didn’t witness it, now you know it happened.
Going into the New Year, I’m excited for what 2018 has in store. I definitely have a few goals that I need to work on. Work life balance is huge, and I fail at knowing how to juggle the two in the midst of the busy season. Also, shooting for myself more. I’ve realized going through my favorite images from this year, that I stopped shooting for myself mid summer, and that definitely needs to change.
Here’s my best of 2017, or at least my favorites. A little mixed bag of wedding and lifestyle work from this past year. It was incredibly hard to narrow down my favorites, so apologies for the long post. You’ll notice I clearly have a thing for laughter, as nothing says your having fun more than that. Best to you all in the New Year.
