Top Pemberton Wedding Venues
A guide to Pemberton’s best Wedding venues.
Pemberton. This little farm community surrounded by mountains has become quite the wedding destionation. It’s no wonder, as Mt. Currie provides a stunning backdrop to most venues. This quaint little town caters to plenty of outdoor enthusiasts, from mountain bikers, golfers, back country skiers, hikers, and those wanting a little escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. With the ever popular Beer Farmers up the Pemberton Meadows, to popular seasonal events such as the Slow Food Cycle. It’s no wonder it has become a destination wedding location. I have had the opportunity to photograph at almost all the venues, and they each have their own unique appeal.
A few things that logistically makes things challenging for Pemberton venues, is the lack of local transport. Taxis are few and far between, so having shuttles or busses to transport your guests is a must.
Secondly, decent locations for getting ready. The only real hotel is the Pemberton Lodge. While suffice to host your guests, the rooms are dark and dated, which don’t provide the best options for getting ready photos. If those photos are of importance to you, I would suggest looking into an air bnb with lots of light.
Here is a curated guide of the top Pemberton wedding venues, listed in no particular order
Pemberton Wedding Venues:
- North Arm Farm
- Big Sky Golf Course
- Riverlands Red Barn
- Green Water Resort
- Bluevault
- Dream Catcher Meadows
- Drumkeeran House
1. North Arm Farm – One of the most popular venues in all of the Sea to Sky. A 35 minute drive north of the Whistler Village, this venue is on a working farm. Weeping willow trees, an expansive view of Mt. Currie, a large field to set up long table dinner receptions, a barn for dancing, and colourful flower gardens. There are plenty of opportunities for incredible photos. They offer in house catering, with plenty of the produce being grown right on their property.
2. Big Sky Golf Course – Offering weddings from Sunday – Thursday, this venue also offers sweeping views of Mt. Currie. Receptions are held in a beautiful dining room built from wooden beams, while cocktail hour is on the outdoor patio so you can take in the views. Dancing is typically outside on the patio under a roof made of grape vines. The food is divine!
3. Riverlands Red Barn – This beautiful barn, is another one of Pemberton’s most popular venues. Situated 7 minutes up the Pemberton Meadows within a large farm field. Mt. Currie once again providing an epic backdrop. There is a secondary charge to being able to host the ceremony on the outskirts of the fenced area, but in my opinion, it’s a no brainer. A few things to note, there is very little shade and Pemberton does get hot, so being prepared for the heat with umbrellas for cocktail hour or parasols for the ceremony is something to seriously consider.
4. Green Water Resort – This venue is awesome. However, they don’t take many bookings a year. There are two air bnbs on the property to stay. There are also little A-frame cabins that accommodate some of your guests. Views of Mt. Currie, as well as a beach on the river, there is no shortage of places to set up depending on your vision.
5. Bluevault – This is a newer venue 20 minutes up the Pemberton Meadows. The owners have turned their beautiful home into a venue, and it’s quite unique. Eloise is an officiant, as well as helps with the planning. Her and her husband Martin are very hands on throughout the day, ensuring their wedding guests are treated with the utmost care. Please note, a tent rental is required. I would recommend a white stretch tent.
6. Dream Catcher Meadows – This venue is also situated 20 minutes up the Pemberton Meadows. With a barn to host your reception, a riverside ceremony location with a mountain backdrop, and a field for photos with views of Mt. Currie. This place is a perfect location to host an outdoor wedding. Fall is particularly beautiful, when the maple trees along the road turn a beautiful red.
7. Drumkeeran House – A stunning lakefront mountain lodge, that sits on Ivey Lake in Pemberton. My favourite photos are taken from the lake, while couples paddle around in a canoe, to take in the views of Mt. Currie. The forested trail that leads to the dock is beautiful for photos too. This venue caters to smaller weddings of 25 guests or less. Rent it for the week or wknd, for you and your families to really make a retreat out of the festivities.
